Achieving the ICT Mark through Self-Review

Introduction

This Wiki was conceived to enable the collaborative development of resources to support the Becta ICT Self-Review Framework (SRF), and to assist schools working towards the ICT Mark.

NB this is not a replacement for the online tool ... it aims to provide a range of resources and comment on achieving the ICT mark, and supporting the journey.

ICT Mark

Big Picture Resources

A Wiki is a constant 'work in progress'. ICT moves quickly, requiring rapid updating and collaborative working. This Wiki invites contributions, and I want to add Kent and national resources to ensure that relevant information can be found through this site.

The Becta ICT Self-Review Framework, and associated ICT Mark offer an effective path to school improvement of and with ICT. This wiki aims to simplify understanding of the process, how to get started, and where to look for both local and national support.

All schools will want the ICT mark, as it is a 'badge of honour' that shows parents and other teachers alike that a school has reached an effective standard in the embedding of ICT across the school. Links to relevant references are embedded where appropriate.

It is recommended that schools use the Becta Online tool to manage their action planning, but recognise that it is not very user friendly, and doesn't offer much advice! This wiki should assist schools by giving relevant advice and guidance from a range of sources.

Your Contribution

The intention is to populate this Wiki with best practice examples and excellent and relevant references. There are numerous areas where advice and guidance is thin on the ground; this is where you can help. All we ask is that you enter into the spirit and do not break any copyright or good taste conditions, and don't use it to advertise goods or services.
