ICT Mark

Do you need to be assessed for the ICT Mark?

When you are ready drop me an email. I am an accredited ICT Mark Assessor. My details can be found by clicking HERE. Other Assessors are available via the ICT Mark web pages.

Assessment Overview

The preliminary assessment is carried out from evidence submitted online using the Becta/NCSL matrix, audited by Naace to ensure completeness and that the school has reached (or exceeded) the standard required for the ICT Mark (in the school's own judgment).

Essentially the ICT Mark assessor is looking for clear evidence to show that:

  • The school has a clear vision for the use of ICT to achieve its overall school improvement / development aims, and a strategy to achieve the vision.
  • The vision is widely understood and systematically implemented across the school.
  • The school's submission for each of the eight element indicates that evidence is available to show that the standard for the ICT Mark has been reached in every strand.

Once the assessor has undertaken this review, he or she will visit the school. It is likely that the visit will:

  • Focus on two of the eight elements, where the evidence presented appears weakest or less complete.
  • Involve interviews with staff (possibly including support staff), to determine the extent to which they are involved in implementing the school's vision, and with pupils, to determine the consistency with which the vision is implemented.
  • Depending on the focus that the assessor has chosen for the visit, he or she may wish to see lesson plans, samples of pupil's work, evidence from assesment records, school policies, or other evidence appropriate to making a judgment.
